Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

The short version. Airport Ears has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. It never asks for your name or email. Your settings stay on your own device. I do not sell data.

1. Who is responsible

Airport Ears is a free hobby website run by Bobby Madhu, an individual in India ("I", "me"). I decide how the site works, so I am the person responsible for the data described here.

I have not published an email address for this site. For any privacy question or request, message Bobby Madhu through the place where you were given the link to this site.

2. What is processed, and why

WhatWhyWho sees it
Your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, whenever you open the siteTo send you the page and keep the site secure. This happens on every website.Cloudflare, which hosts the site. I do not keep my own copy.
The map area you are looking at, rounded to a whole degree (about 111 km), when you switch on aircraft or pick an airportTo fetch the aircraft in that area.My server on Cloudflare. It asks the aircraft data provider (adsb.lol) for that area. Your IP address is not passed on. The answer is cached for up to 5 minutes.
Your location, only if you press "Near me"To list the closest airports to you.Only your browser. The exact coordinates are used on your device, are not sent to me or anyone else, and are not stored. Because the map moves to your area, the rounded map area above can reveal roughly where you are (within about 100 km).
Your choices (theme, switches, "My airports")To remember them next time.Only your browser. See the Cookie Policy.

I do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment details or any account information. There are no forms that send data to me.

3. Other companies your browser talks to

To draw the map, your browser loads files directly from these services, so they receive your IP address and browser details, as with any website:

When you click a link to another site (LiveATC.net, Flightradar24, FlightAware, SkyVector, ADS-B Exchange, adsb.lol, AviationWeather.gov, OurAirports, or a Google search), you leave Airport Ears and that site's own privacy policy applies.

I have not installed Google Analytics, advertising code, social media buttons, chat widgets or embedded videos.

4. Legal basis

I process the technical data in section 2 to run the site you asked to open and to keep it secure (in the EU and UK this is "legitimate interests", Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). Your device location is used only after you give permission in your browser, and you can withdraw that permission in your browser settings at any time. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, this site does not collect personal data beyond what is needed to provide the page and map you requested.

5. Sharing and transfers

I do not sell or rent data and I do not build profiles. Data is only handled by the providers in section 3. They run worldwide networks, so data can be handled in countries other than yours. I may disclose information if the law requires it.

6. How long data is kept

7. Your rights

You can ask me what data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used. Because I do not keep logs or accounts, I will most likely have nothing about you, but write to me and I will check. I aim to reply within 7 days and to finish within 30 days. To remove what is saved on your device, clear this site's data in your browser settings.

If you are not happy with my answer, you can complain to your data protection authority. In India that is the Data Protection Board of India. In the EU or UK it is your national authority.

8. Children

Airport Ears is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone. It has no accounts, no advertising and no tracking, so no profile of a child is built. If you believe a child has sent me personal data, write to me and I will delete it.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and the map libraries are loaded with integrity checks, so a changed file will not run. No website can promise perfect security. If I learn of a breach that affects you, I will tell you as the law requires.

10. Changes

If I change what the site does with data, I will update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
